When you finally figure out your talents and how to use them then that is the best time or you to start your business. This means that you have a clear plan of what you want to do with your life, and chances are you will choose a business you love.
But how can we find our purpose? How do we look inside ourselves and pinpoint our passions and talents? Here is my answer.
The Journey of Self-Discovery
You have been blessed with natural gifts by God that make you special in unique ways. James 1:17 says;
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.James 1:17 (NIV)
God gives us all these gifts so that we can bless other people (solving problems for others) and build His kingdom.
Let’s start the process
Take a piece of paper or open your phone’s notepad and make a list of all the gift you have. These are the talents or abilities about you that you think makes you special. The things that come easy for you. Your true potential lies on this list.
Create a second list highlighting all the things you love doing or feel a deep connection to. What activities am I most passionate about and enjoy doing?
What can I GIVE to other people that makes me feel so happy when I give it? You probably enjoy sharing what comes easy to you. And what comes easy to you? Those abilities or talents you listed on the first list.
Figuring out why we like certain activities is a major step in finding out our purpose. What is special about a certain activity that feeds your passion? If something lights your fire and your mood then you should have an idea why it’s doing that and how it does it.
Write down what inspires you, what makes you happy, what you feel comfortable doing, what makes you laugh, what makes you feel good, and so on.
Think of activities or ways that involve a mix of your natural talents, gifts, passions, and character. We want to find something that can be connected to most of the things you like and come up with a winning outcome that defines you.
The more gifts and talents you bring into the mix the better. Once you have brought all your qualities together the final outcome should be a product, service, or activity that can be custom made into an economical model for you. This business will come easy for you and raising capital will sort itself out once you get started.
This way, you can pursue your passions, develop your talents, give to others, contribute to a greater good, and produce income as a by-product of employing your talents.
